In almost every fall or winter, you get it: a sore throat terrifyingly. Whether that makes you sick or not, this is very annoying. Tea and honey are common treatments you may be familiar with. But did you know that there are other food-related treatments that help with sore throat? We have put together a list for you so you can try some of them yourself.

1. broth
Just like a hot cup of hot tea, a hot bowl of broth can do wonders for sore throats. Your nose will be less blocked due to steam from the broth. Additionally, the broth makes a great base for an antibacterial soup. Add some fresh vegetables, garlic, turmeric, ginger, and pesto! It generates an anti-inflammatory soup.
2. Fruit lollipops
The ice cold pacifier cools your throat and immediately relieves pain. But do not limit a box of popsicles with a pear flavor! These popsicles contain a lot of sugar, which increases irritation to your throat. Get the blender and throw some different fruits, fresh spinach and grated ginger. Pour this mixture into some popsicle molds and put it in the freezer for a few hours. Your throat will be grateful.
3. Garlic
Garlic contains allicin. This substance has anti-inflammatory properties and kills the bacteria that cause sore throats. Apart from that, garlic can also help you get rid of a cold. How can you eat it? Chop the garlic glove well and put it in your broth.
4. Juices
Like juice, cold juices do a lot of good things for your throat. Do you have a bad flu? Then you may not feel much like eating. However, it is really important to have enough vitamins and minerals in your system in order for you to get better as soon as possible. Some ingredients are essential in your juice when you want to combat sore throats. Take a large amount of fresh or frozen fruits, oatmeal, fresh ginger, a little turmeric, water or vegetable milk and ice cubes. Mix them all together and have a nice smoothie that will help you improve again.

5. Tea
You already know about this of course. But we just can't say it enough: staying hydrated is very important for fighting sore throats. The great thing about tea is that you can mix soothing or anti-inflammatory substances with it. Try, for example, ginger, cinnamon, mint, chamomile, sage, licorice, or rosemary.
6. Oatmeal
A delicate bowl of oatmeal is easy to eat and enriched with antioxidants, zinc and magnesium. Plus, it is easy to combine oatmeal with lots of different healthy things. Try some pureed bananas, for example, to get a little extra vitamin C with an oat bowl with some honey, cinnamon and a little ginger.
7. Spices
Turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon make your throat. As mentioned before, these spices have a relaxing and anti-inflammatory effect. So reach the supermarket and hoard these spices! Put these wonderful spices through oatmeal, tea, juice or popsicles. You'll see that it really helps!
8. Honey
Honey is known for its calming properties. but that is not all! This sedative also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Fortunately, the taste of honey is wonderful, which makes it a nice addition to tea or juice. Of course, you can also take a tablespoon of honey this way. Miracles will work.
